The Erasmus+ programme supports activities related to education, training, youth and sports in all sectors of lifelong learning, including Higher Education, Professional Training, Adult Education, School Education, Activities for young people and training within amateur Sports.
It was created on the basis of the Erasmus initiative, known for the opportunities it provides to university students and higher education teaching staff, in terms of mobility for purposes of learning, traineeship or training.

The Almeida Garrett Programme, set up by the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP), aims to promote the quality and reinforce the national dimension of Higher Education. As part of students’ mobility, this programme offers the chance to undertake a study period, with full academic recognition, in a Portuguese public university.
The Instituto de Educação has several protocols with universities of other countries, especially Latin America, which allow students’, teachers’ and staff’s mobility. The Erasmus+ programme may support this kind of mobility action. Additional information may be requested in the Institute’s Mobility Office.
